Cleanup After Use
HOW DO YOU RECOVER FROM BEING AFFECTED BY THE CHEMICAL COMPOUND?
If the chemicals are not washed from your body, because it is a naturally derived agent, the body will naturally process the chemical after 15-30 minutes depending on exposure. After being affected by the chemical, use vinegar or a non-oil based soap to wash your hands so you don't accidentally spread the chemical to your eyes, or body. And, if your body is affected, take a shower as soon as possible using non-oil based soaps to rid the chemical.
HOW DO I CLEAN UP MY HOME AFTER USING THE GUN?
First, we suggest airing out the affected area as it will take some time for the particles to settle on the ground where you would begin the above cleaning process. Once the particles settle, to clean the affected area, use a non-oil based soap (most dish soaps are non-oil based) or vinegar with cold water to clean the affected area. Oil based soaps will trap the chemicals in the affected area (so, for example, if you clean your skin with an oil based soap, it will likely increase the burning sensation).
WHAT IF THE PRODUCT GETS INTO THE AIR VENTS IN MY HOME?
High quality filtration systems will filter the particles from your home vents.
HOW DO I CLEAN THE GUN AFTER USE?
If you are looking to clean residue, dirt or debris in the barrel of our s1 pepper spray gun, simply remove the barrel by unscrewing it from the pistol. Once you have done this, you can run warm water through the barrel to clean it. After this, allow the barrel to air dry, or twist a paper towel up and push through with wooden dowel, plastic rod, pencil, etc. To reinstall simply screw in hand tight.
If you would like to clean the exterior of the pepper spray gun, the pistol should be wiped with a damp towel or cloth. You can also use a bit of detergent to remove any stubborn residues.
However, please note that our gun does not require cleaning like a standard firearm would. It is often required to clean a firearm after each to remove the buildup of carbon, etc. - additionally, lubrication is also require to help prevent rust and corrosion. The good news is, because our gun does not rely on a the combustion of a propellant, the pepper spray gun will not experience the same buildup.
After use, it is only required to degas the pistol, wipe off any moisture, dirt or debris, and store in a reasonably cool/dry place.
